Lansiwyd y John D.Spicer diwedd pnawn am 1740, at gwch hwylio 25 troedfedd a oedd wedi torri lawr ger Porth Ysgaden. Cyrhaeddodd y bad achub y cwch hwylio ‘Barra’ am 1755, a’i thowio i angorfa diogel ym Mae Porthdinllaen. Yno, daethpwyd a’r ddau berson (oedd arni) yn ôl i’r lan ar fwrdd y bad achub. Dychwelodd y bad achub yn ôl i’r cwt erbyn 1850.
The John D.Spicer was launched at 1740 to a 25 foot yacht which had suffered mechanical failure near Porth Ysgaden. The lifeboat was alongside the vessel ‘Barra’ at 1755. The lifeboat towed the casualty vessel (with two persons on board) back to Porthdinllaen where she was placed on a safe mooring. The lifeboat was back in the boathouse by 1850.
