Dawn's Snowdon climb.. May 2009

To date Dawn has raised over £5500.00 for the RNLI in memory of her father Maldwyn by climbing Snowdon .......

Dawn presents her cheque to the Crew on 25th May 2009.

Maldwyn was a Loving Husband, Father and Grandfather, born and raised in the small fishing Village of Aberdaron on the Lyn, North Wales, Maldwyn met Viv and moved to Cheadle, Cheshire to live and raise there two children Haydn & Dawn.
2 years ago Maldwyn moved back to the Lyn to finish his working life on the sea where he always wanted to be, he loved his new job as a Whelk Fisherman and always came home with a smile on his face after a hard days work.
Unfortunately on the 28th April on a cold afternoon, the big man upstairs decided he had plans for Maldwyn, we got the call that his boat had been found with no-one on board going round in circles just off Trefor point and a huge sea and air rescue began with the life boats from Porthdinllaen and Trearddur Bay and Rescue 122 from RAF Valley was scrambled. Mobile coastguards from Porthdinllaen & Llandwrog made shoreline searches and local fishermen joined later in the evening. It was five weeks before the sea brought him home and his family finally laid him to rest on the 28th June 2008.

Well done Dawn - a fitting tribute, your father would have been very proud of you.
